Each turn covers one year, and each hex is approximately nine miles across. Infantry and Cavalry strength points represent approximately 500-1000 men each. Artillery is represented by Artillery Trains counters that can travel with armies to give advantage in battle and in taking cities. Each leader has a Leadership Rating that affects how many troops he can effectively lead and his ability to accomplish special tasks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe game includes scenarios covering the Bohemian Revolt, the War in the Palatinate, the Danish Intervention, the Swedish Intervention, and the French Intervention. There is also a 31-turn campaign which covers the whole Thirty Years War from 1618 to 1648.
