Top 11 Rarest & Most Expensive Funko Pop Vinyl Figures of All Time

Top 11 Rarest & Most Expensive Funko Pop Vinyl Figures of All Time

All Funatics know that collecting can get expensive. We're sure by now there are already more than a few high value items in your collection. Sometimes, it can be difficult to determine exactly which items will skyrocket in value and which will be worth peanuts in the months or years to come following their release.

Most of the time, we can assume that items released for exclusive events with extremely limited availability will be most likely to go up in value; it doesn't take a psychic to figure out that a 1 in 50 rare Freddy Funko figure is going to be worth something in a couple of years, especially if there's a chance flippers will get their hands on one. But if you, like us, have been collecting for a while, then chances are you've seen an item soar in value that's taken you by surprise.

Maybe you picked up that common Disney princess Pop! at a bargain price from your local hobby shop, only to find out a few years later that people are selling it on eBay for ten times what you paid. Or maybe you keep up with all the latest on sites like Pop Price Guide/ HobbyDB or Ozzie Collectables and are better at determining which new releases will be popular enough to really take off once they're vaulted.

No matter where you're at in terms of collector knowledge, we're sure you'll find something to gawk at in our top 11 picks for the rarest and most expensive Funko figures of all time!

1. Mickey Mouse (Metallic)

With a rarity of 1 in 480 pieces, this silver variant of the famous mouse was released as part of Funko's Comic Con exclusives line-up back in 2011 for San Diego Comic Con. With an estimated value of $1,130, this is one mouse you'd definitely wanna keep safely in the house.

2. Superman (Metallic Chase)

Are you noticing a theme? Back before every second variant released by Funko was a metallic (and everybody and their uncle started flocking to stock up on these re-released moulds) a metallic chase variant could be much harder to find, especially in the wild. This DC Superman Pop! was released back in 2010, exclusive to Target, and featured a sought after bobble-head. Back then, you could expect to be out of pocket an average of $10 if you happened to stumble across one of these on the shelf at your local Target. The going rate these days? A whopping $3,700.

3. Stranger Things - Hopper (Gold)

Back in 2018, Stranger Things was all the rage. The hype extended all the way to Funko's Comic Con events. As part of their 2018 Fundays event, they released this shiny gold variant of Hopper, limited to only 40 pieces. As cool as it must have been for those lucky 40 die-hard Funatics and Comic Con attendees to get their hands on one of these, the going rate unfortunately skyrocketed for anyone else hoping to hunt one down near-immediately. These days, you'll be lucky to come across one for anything less than $4,110.

4. Freddy Funko as Chocula (Metallic)

Here come those metallics again! Any die-hard Funatic will tell you that Freddy is a well-loved mascot. Typically exclusive to Comic Con events or the Funko shop, this isn't the first time the brand has released a shiny new variant of their character for everybody to get their hands on, and this 2011 San Diego Comic Con exclusive has been extremely popular for such a limited release. This one sells for an estimated $5,000 on the market now. Just pocket change, right?

5. Boo Berry (Glow in the Dark Chase)

Do you have many Ad Icons Funko POP! figures in your collection? How about one that's worth $5,570?

6. Dumbo (Clown Paint)

Come one, come all, and feast your eyes on this 2013 San Diego Comic Con Pop! Vinyl limited to only 48 pieces world-wide. For a staggering $6,350, you too can add this Disney treasure to your collection!

7. Star Wars - Darth Maul (Holographic)

Back before there were a gazillion Star Wars Funko figures, this 1 in 480 exclusive glow variant of Darth Maul was a fresh and exciting new release for 2012's San Diego Comic Con. Back then, if you were lucky enough to attend, you could grab him at the typical going retail rate. These days? Be prepared to shell out somewhere around $7,000.

8. Stan Lee (Superhero) (Red Metallic)

When real-life hero Stan Lee passed away back in November of 2018, it was a dark day for Marvel fans everywhere. Since then, there have been a number of additional Stan Lee Pop! releases, most typically celebrating the beloved creator's cameos in his MCU films. But those who were lucky enough to get their hands on one of the original releases will surely be celebrating today, as they're only 1 of 12 people worldwide who can say they own this super rare Funko Pop Vinyl figure. Released in October 2017, this red metallic variant is currently worth around $8,000.

9. Freddy Funko as Count Chocula (Glow in the Dark)

If you thought the metallic variant was expensive, you haven't met the glow chase yet! Released for San Diego Comic Con in 2011, this 1 in 12 rare glow in the dark chase variant of Freddy Funko dressed as the vampiric cereal mascot Count Chocula is typically regarded as the third rare and most expensive Funko Pop Vinyl of all time. The price? A cool $10,000.

10. Game of Thrones - Freddy Funko as Jaime Lannister (Bloody)

If you were part of the pop culture world back in circa 2012, there's a low chance you escaped without catching at least a little Game of Thrones fever. The TV show is still widely regarded as one of the most popular of all time, and it certainly boasts a collectibles range to prove it. Following a trend you'll notice for the vast majority of ultra rare Funko figures, there were none quite as popular as this 2013 exclusive Pop! showcasing mascot Freddy Funko yet again dressed as a popular character. This blood-spattered bobble-head can be yours for an average of just $11,680.

11. Clockwork Orange (Glow in the Dark Chase)

A few years ago, when Funko announced they'd be re-releasing a new line of Clockwork Orange Pop! Vinyl figures, panic among collectors was imminent. Luckily, these new figures were different from the original releases, which was good, because it doesn't affect the original items' rarity; some collectors have paid big bucks for these! Widely regarded as the rarest and most expensive Funko figure ever, this limited edition glow in the dark chase is worth an estimated $13,300.
