For over four decades of service, Norwegian F-16s participated in many key international operations under NATO auspices, including Kosovo, Afghanistan, Libya and patrolling the airspace of the Baltic States as part of NATO's Baltic Air Policing.

After 42 years of service, the last operational flight of the Norwegian F-16 took place on January 6, 2022. Although the aircraft were retired from active service, many remained operational and found a second life - some ended up in Romania, others were sold to training companies.
