Dystopian Wars: the naval battle in a miniatures game by Warcradle!

Commander Matthias Alborough gazes out the huge portholes of the Chione-class submarine Benefaction . The darkness of the ocean depths might have terrified weaker men, but Alborough felt no such apprehension.

For him, the void to come was an abstraction of the future, unknown and infinite in scope. Something he would impose his will on for the good of all. Below him, moving on catwalks and consoles, officers transmitted orders and constructions performed the menial tasks that kept a submersible of this size running.

It was a hive of order that the commander knew would one day be replicated the world over. The influence of the Pact of the Illuminated on mankind was growing by the day, despite the efforts of the so-called great powers. At this very moment, the battle fleet of which he was a part, with its Euripides automatons and Plinius support carriers, was on the verge of wiping out a network of platforms controlled by the Crown. If Pax Britannia wasn't able to protect its local infrastructure, then, of course, the region's wayward citizens would be easy enough to bring back into the Custodian fold.
