Accuse! is a compact deduction game in the style of classic murder mysteries, but with a stronger emphasis on direct interaction, bluffing, and deliberate deception. While trying to identify the perpetrator, the murder weapon, and the crime scene, information can be hidden, false clues planted, and opponents led into risky decisions.
The game uses 18 evidence cards, each featuring six suspects, six weapons, and six locations. At the start of the game, three cards are removed from the game, while the remaining cards are dealt to the players. On their turn, a player calls out a card and places it face down in its corresponding location. Other players can challenge the statement, but doing so risks revealing their own information.
An accusation can be made at any time. If it is correct, the player in question wins immediately. If it is incorrect, they are eliminated, while the remaining players bid for the right to make the next attempt. This is how Accuse! combines deduction with bluffing, suspense, and a keen sense of timing.
