Squadrons of Chubu hunter submarines prowl the Sea of Japan and beyond in search of opportune targets. These fearsome vessels are armed with multiple torpedo launchers for swift and deadly attacks.

The Sakata heavy destroyers combine firepower, speed and group tactics to present a formidable and tenacious foe to Japan's adversaries.

The shadows of the Japanese submarines had been spotted on an interception course. With no sign of Miyagi or Okinawa nearby and no long-range visuals of a Tianlong in the area, which would have been usual air support for such a battle fleet, all that remained was to wait for them to emerge and eliminate them with the fire support of their collective lightning rods. A Koromodako emerged from the waves, its steel tentacles waving helplessly. The crew of the warship Kriegsturm exchanged a smile as orders were given to fire on the helpless submarine. It took a while for one of the junior officers to notice that other ships had appeared with a different orientation. Strange little machines were swarming; Rin Exosubs. Flying in formation, they dove into the depths to avoid the fire. Perhaps this confrontation wouldn't be so lopsided after all?
